Are you a licensed general contractor in California?+

Yes. Bay Area Realty & Construction operates under a California CSLB general contractor license and carries liability insurance and workers' compensation. We're happy to provide license and insurance certificates with every proposal.

Do you handle plans and permits, or do I need my own architect?+

We're a design-build firm — our team produces architectural drawings, Title 24 energy calcs, and structural engineering, then files and expedites the permit with your city. You can also bring your own architect and we'll build from their plans.

What size projects do you take on?+

Anything from a single bathroom remodel (~$30K) to ground-up ADUs, major additions, and full commercial or restaurant buildouts north of $1M. If a project isn't a fit, we'll tell you on the first call and point you in the right direction.

How do payments work?+

California law caps the initial deposit at $1,000 or 10% (whichever is less). After that, payments follow a milestone schedule tied to completed work — you never pay significantly ahead of progress.

Can you help finance the project?+

Yes — that's a BARC advantage. Our in-house loan team arranges renovation loans, HELOC alternatives, and hard-money construction financing so the budget conversation and the build plan happen at the same table.
